Here we are in April. Amazing I know. The seeds that were planted last month are thriving. They were planted according to chart for our zone. Zone 5. Hummmm that may have been a bit too early. The cucumber and pumpkin plants are growing so well we may have to trellis them indoors. We got ourselves 12 little chicks to raise and they are doing quite well also. They were in the house and we had to make an addition to their brudder at week two. They have now been moved to the garage and a bigger brudder until they can be put out to the coup. The house is a bit quieter.
The weather has been wonderful but rather yoyo like. I have been in the garden a lot and really gotten a head start on the beds. I had my sister's man bring me some fertilizer ( cow poo ) to amend the beds with. Yes it is still there in a big BIG poo pile waiting to be dealt with. Oh well maybe tomorrow or not.
There are always projects to be worked on at the sewing machine. I must get focused and get back to them. It is Spring and there seems to be a myriad of projects just calling for my attention and I sometimes have a hard time staying focused.
All is well however with my soul and that is what truly matters.

Come on Spring !!!

Seth the gardener is on the job. Seth and I are so ready for Spring to get here. We started our seeds on Saturday and they are coming along very nicely. Making great plans for the garden this year including some chickens. The truth is I am great in the garden in the Spring and planning stages however when it is time to pull weeds I would rather be off reading a good book.

Sharing my heart

I have sat down here and am very determined to figure this out. My plan this evening is to understand a few things in the blogging world and post a  favorite link. I just stumbled upon this one and fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. I am looking forward to picking up the book Sew What You Love  by Tanya Whelan Wendelken. It looks like it is filled with great sewing projects that newbies and experienced sewers will love. Pop on over to her site and check it out. Better yet go buy her book.

closing out the old year

It has been a rather lovely second to the last day of 2011.  This year has brought many changes for me within myself and am looking eagerly towards a new year to continue this incredible life.

Today's project was a very warm and toasty pair of slippers.  Adapted from Simplicity 2278. Made from scraps. Up-cycled jeans on the bottom and fleece on the inside with a vintage flannel snowman print to keep my tootsies warm.

Spend some time each day on your Hearts Desire.
